“University of Telafer Organizes Awareness Seminar in Cooperation with the Integrity Commission on the Rights and Duties of Public Employees”
As part of its ongoing efforts to promote a culture of integrity and transparency, and in alignment with the vision of the University President, Professor Dr. Abdulaziz Ahmed Aziz, which aims to instill principles of professional responsibility and build an institutional environment grounded in good governance, the University of Telafer, in collaboration with the Integrity Commission in Nineveh, held an awareness seminar on Monday, April 28, 2025. The seminar was titled: “The Rights and Duties of Public Employees as Stipulated in the Amended Law No. 14 of 1991 on the Discipline of State and Public Sector Employees, and Their Relation to Integrity and Transparency.”
The seminar featured lectures by legal experts Mr. Firas Ali Mohammed Ali and Mr. Mohsen Hammoud Abawi, who reviewed the legal aspects concerning the rights and duties of public employees as outlined in Iraqi legislation. Their presentations emphasized the direct connection between these legal provisions and the promotion of core values such as integrity, professional commitment, and performance transparency.
The seminar also highlighted the importance of adhering to legal standards in daily administrative conduct and the role these standards play in strengthening trust between employees, institutions, and society. In addition, it discussed practical methods for reducing manifestations of administrative corruption by fostering a strong legal culture among public employees.
