“A Faculty Member from the College of Basic Education Participates in an International Scientific Conference”

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Telafer, Professor Dr. Abdul Aziz Ahmed Aziz, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Ali Ismail Wais, a faculty member at the College of Basic Education, University of Telafer, participated in the International Scientific Conference entitled “Humanities and Social Studies in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Towards Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals,” organized by the College of Arts at the University of Mosul for the period 17–18 December 2025.

Dr. Mohammed Ali Ismail Wais presented a research paper entitled “The Contributions of Scholars of the Early Abbasid Era (132–247 AH / 749–861 AD) in Shaping the Path of Sustainable Economic Development,” in which he highlighted the scientific and civilizational role of scholars of that era in laying the foundations of sustainable economic development.

The conference aims to discuss prospects for employing artificial intelligence technologies in the fields of humanities and social sciences, their role in supporting scientific research, and their contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, with the participation of a distinguished group of academics and researchers from various universities.

This participation comes within the framework of the University of Telafer’s commitment to supporting scientific research and encouraging its faculty members to take part in local and international scientific conferences, thereby enhancing its academic presence and promoting the exchange of scientific expertise.
