“University of Telafer and University of Tabriz Hold a Scientific Seminar on Developing Innovation and Information Technology Centers”
Under the patronage of the President of the University of Telafer, Prof. Dr. Abdulaziz Ahmed Aziz, the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations, in collaboration with the Center for Continuing Education and within the framework of academic and scientific cooperation between the University of Telafer and Tabriz University in Iran, organized a specialized seminar titled:
“Developing Innovation and Information Technology Centers (Employment and Qualification)”, held at the Martyrs Hall in the University Presidency Building on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
At the opening of the seminar, the University President, Prof. Dr. Abdulaziz Ahmed Aziz, welcomed the attendees, emphasizing the University of Telafer’s commitment to enhancing international cooperation and adopting modern strategies in innovation and digital transformation, given their active role in both the local and international labor markets.
The seminar was delivered by Prof. Dr. Ali Pour Ziyad, Director of the Innovation and Information Technology Center at Tabriz University, who highlighted the importance of establishing and developing innovation centers within academic institutions, as well as their role in supporting the knowledge-based economy and promoting academic entrepreneurship.
He also reviewed mechanisms for collaboration between academic institutions and industry and technology sectors, along with international best practices in employing modern technologies to serve sustainable development and higher education.
This seminar is significant for its active contribution to promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the areas of quality education, innovation, economic growth, and building academic partnerships that enhance human capacities.
The seminar featured productive scientific discussions and interventions by professors and researchers, focusing on activating the role of innovation centers in student qualification, developing digital skills, and fostering university-level entrepreneurship.
The seminar concluded with commendations for the high quality of the presentations and the spirit of academic cooperation that united University of Telafer and Tabriz University.
