“University of Telafer Faculty Members Participate in International Workshop on Innovation Management and Technology Business Incubator Development”

Based on the strategic vision of the University of Telafer to keep pace with contemporary scientific and technological developments and establish a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in the academic environment, several faculty members from the university participated in the specialized international workshop titled “Innovation Management to Enhance Business Incubators and Science and Technology Parks in Universities,” which was held from May 26 to 29, 2025, at the University of Baghdad’s College of Science in Al-Idrisi Hall.

The University of Telafer’s participation in this international scientific forum was represented by a diverse academic delegation comprising Dr. Sinan Esam Al-Din Salah, Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs at the College of Agriculture; Assistant Lecturer Mushtaq Abdullah Mohammed Taher, Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs at the College of Education; Dr. Shamil Taha Abdullah, Head of the Sustainable Development Unit at the university; Assistant Lecturer Muthanna Khamis Rashid, Head of the Agricultural Division; and Assistant Lecturer Musara Adnan Abbas from the College of Basic Education.

This scientific workshop, organized by the Research and Development Department of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, aimed to develop strategic leadership competencies and familiarize them with the latest successful global practices in the field of entrepreneurial project incubation and startup support, as well as strengthening cooperative links between universities and industrial and economic sectors.

The workshop was distinguished by the participation of an elite group of specialized international experts from the Islamic Republic of Iran, where its scientific sessions focused on building advanced academic and research cooperation networks and exchanging visions and experiences in transforming creative and innovative ideas into practical, applicable projects that serve the student community and effectively contribute to achieving sustainable development goals.

The workshop also included interactive dialogue sessions with specialists and researchers to discuss practical mechanisms for cooperation and coordination between Iraqi universities and their regional and global counterparts, with the aim of enhancing the integrated university innovation system and establishing solid bridges linking academic institutions with productive and commercial sectors.

The participation of the academic delegation from the University of Telafer in this international scientific gathering reflects the university’s firm commitment to developing the professional and scientific capabilities of its teaching staff in vital areas of innovation and entrepreneurship, and making qualitative contributions to achieving a set of sustainable development goals related to education quality, technological innovation, and strategic development partnerships.
