“Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations at the University of Telafer Organizes Explanatory Workshop on Study Abroad Mechanisms”

The Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations at the University of Telafer organized an explanatory workshop titled “Mechanisms for Choosing Precise Specialization, 1.5% Ratio, and Criteria for Selecting Universities Abroad” on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, in the halls of the Continuing Education Center, aimed at raising awareness among university personnel wishing to complete their postgraduate studies abroad and clarifying relevant regulations and instructions.

The workshop modules were presented by Assistant Lecturer Qaydar Mohammed Salih, Director of the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations at the university, who reviewed important details related to mechanisms for selecting precise specializations for postgraduate studies, with detailed explanation of the 1.5% ratio system adopted in scholarship distribution, and basic criteria that must be considered when choosing appropriate universities abroad according to applicable regulations.

The workshop addressed defining administrative and academic procedures required to obtain approval for studying abroad, necessary documents and papers to complete the application file, in addition to clarifying eligibility conditions and academic and linguistic requirements that applicants must fulfill before applying to recognized foreign universities.

This workshop comes within the continuous efforts of the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations to provide support and guidance to university personnel wishing to develop their scientific qualifications through studying abroad, contributing to raising the level of academic staff at the university and enhancing its scientific and research capabilities to serve society and higher education in Iraq.
