“Two Faculty Members from University of Telafer Participate in Training Course on Drug Control Strategy”

Within the framework of efforts to enhance the role of educational institutions in combating drugs, the University of Telafer participated in the training course via the electronic platform on the strategy for developing higher education and scientific research regarding drug control, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 15-16, 2025, at the Continuing Education Center at the University of Mosul.

The University of Telafer was represented in this course by Dr. Ashraf Raad Salem, Head of the Chemical, Biological, and Radiological Safety and Security Division, and Dr. Mohammed Mowaffaq Sahri, Head of the Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Division.

The course focused on mechanisms for using the electronic platform specialized in registering and inventorying flammable chemical materials and those that may be used in drug manufacturing, with the aim of tightening control over them and preventing their leakage for illicit purposes. The course also included practical training on how to enter data and required periodic reports into the electronic system.

This participation comes within the University of Telafer’s commitment to activating its role in preventive and regulatory procedures for hazardous chemical materials, and keeping pace with the ministry’s directives in implementing modern electronic control systems in laboratories and scientific research centers in Iraqi universities.
