“New Research Achievement by University of Telafer Scholars Published in a Q1-Ranked International Journal”

In a development that reflects the growing academic momentum at the University of Telafer, Dr. Falah Mohammed Theyab, Head of the English Department at the College of Education, and Lecturer Songul Jaafar Mahmood, achieved a distinguished milestone by publishing a scientific study in the international journal Education and Urban Society, which is indexed in the Scopus database and ranked in the first quartile (Q1).

The study is titled:
“Exploring the Challenges Faced by EFL Primary School Teachers in Urban Peripheries: Insights from Telafer District”

The research explored the educational and real challenges encountered by English language teachers in primary schools located in urban peripheries. It employed a rigorous quantitative methodology based on field data collected from 100 teachers in the Telafer District.

The study identified several critical issues, including inadequate pedagogical preparation, the diversity of students’ cultural backgrounds, insufficient administrative and technical support, low learning motivation, classroom overcrowding, and the limited impact of home environments on student progress.

This publication further strengthens the University of Telafer’s standing in the field of high-quality academic research, underscoring its continued commitment to supporting its researchers and encouraging them to address contemporary educational issues through scientific rigor and impactful international publication.
