As part of its ongoing commitment to student welfare and the provision of a suitable residential and academic environment, the Social Research Unit for Dormitories at the University of Telafer organized an evening field visit on Monday, May 19, 2025, to student housing facilities. The aim was to assess students’ living conditions and listen to their concerns both inside and outside the university residences.
The visiting delegation was led by Assistant Lecturer Maysar Mohammed Saeed Al-Mousawi, Head of the Social Research Unit, and included Assistant Lecturer Sajad Abbas Younis, Director of the Student Affairs Department; Assistant Lecturer Habeeb Noori Jumaa, Director of the Security Clearance Department; and Assistant Lecturer Raad Abdulameer Qasim, Head of the Computer Science Department at the College of Education.
The visit included a guidance session during which the Director of Student Affairs provided a detailed explanation to students about the regulations, timelines, and exceptions concerning university transfers and hosting procedures, helping them better understand administrative processes related to their academic progression.
Both the Director of the Security Clearance Department and the Head of the Computer Science Department offered valuable advice, encouraging students to make the most of their dormitory experience and university life as an opportunity for personal development, independence, meaningful friendships, and cultural engagement—reflecting the rich diversity of Iraqi society.
The students expressed their gratitude to the faculty members for their visit and guidance, praising the ongoing efforts of the Social Research Unit and its dedication to their wellbeing. They also acknowledged the wide range of cultural, health, administrative, and recreational activities organized for them, in addition to the psychological and social support provided.
This visit is part of a broader series of initiatives by the University of Telafer aimed at monitoring student conditions, addressing challenges in their educational journey, and ensuring a supportive and motivating university environment.
