“Continuing Education Center at University of Telafer Organizes Field Visit to Sinjar Cement Factory to Enhance Community Partnership and Health Awareness”

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Telafer, Professor Dr. Abdul Aziz Ahmed Aziz, and under the supervision of the Director of the Continuing Education Center, Assistant Professor Dr. Rana Zidan Younis, the center organized a field visit to Sinjar Cement Factory, within the framework of enhancing community partnership between the university and the industrial sector and providing health and awareness services to factory employees and workers.

The university delegation participating in the visit included Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Qasim Baktash, Dr. Iman Mohammed Saeed, Assistant Lecturer Abdul Ilah Ismail Ibrahim, Assistant Lecturer Ashraf Abdul Rahman Mohammed Tahir, and Assistant Lecturer Hassan Salem Baktash, as well as University Nurse Mohammed Taha Mohammed and University Nurse Musab Mohammed Qasim, who formed a specialized team to provide the required health and awareness services.

The field visit included three main stages starting with an initiative to conduct preliminary laboratory tests for factory employees including glucose level, triglycerides, cholesterol, and LDL tests, aimed at ensuring workers’ health and early detection of any indicators requiring medical follow-up, followed by comprehensive workshops and awareness lectures on occupational safety, first aid, and following healthy dietary patterns.

The visit concluded with encouraging enhanced institutional cooperation between the University of Telafer and Sinjar Cement Factory, and agreeing to open future courses for factory employees and workers in various specializations, contributing to raising their professional and scientific competencies and enhancing performance levels in the industrial work environment.
