“University of Telafer Receives Ministerial Committee for Dormitories Headed by the Director of Dormitories Affairs Department at the Ministry”

Within the framework of the Ministry of Higher Education’s pursuit to monitor the quality of student housing environment and ensure its conformity with international standards, the President of the University of Telafer, Professor Dr. Abdul Aziz Ahmed Aziz, received on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, the ministerial committee specialized in dormitories affairs headed by Dr. Bassam Kareem, Director of the Dormitories Affairs Department at the Ministry, and in the presence of the Director of the Dormitories Affairs Department at the university, Assistant Lecturer Hussein Shiyat Ahmed.

This visit falls within the systematic inspection tours conducted by the Ministry to field assess the reality of services provided to students in various Iraqi universities, evaluate the infrastructure of dormitories, and determine priority needs for their development.

The ministerial committee conducted a comprehensive exploratory tour in male and female student housing complexes, including residence rooms, shared facilities, and study halls, while directly listening to the opinions and observations of resident students regarding the quality of services provided.

During the meeting, the University President affirmed the university presidency’s commitment to providing an appropriate residential environment that considers students’ health and academic standards, reviewing the university’s plan to develop the dormitories’ infrastructure and enhance support services within them, aiming to achieve an integrated care system for resident students.

For his part, the head of the ministerial committee expressed his appreciation for the efforts exerted in developing the reality of dormitories at the University of Telafer, affirming that the Ministry will work to provide necessary support within available capabilities, based on the importance of providing a stable residential environment that helps students excel academically.
