“Faculty Members from University of Telafer Participate in Trainers Preparation Course under Government Entrepreneurship Initiative”
Following the direction of the President of the University of Telafer, Professor Dr. Abdul Aziz Ahmed Aziz, to enhance the university’s role in entrepreneurship and startup projects, several faculty members from the university participated in the trainers preparation course for the entrepreneurship program in Nineveh Governorate, which was held from June 29 to July 2, 2025, at the Vocational Training Center, as a continuation of the business incubators and science parks project established by the Ministry of Higher Education.
The course was organized under the patronage of His Excellency the Prime Minister, Engineer Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, and supervised by the Directorate of Entrepreneurship and Excellence with participation from of representatives from the Universities of Mosul, Telafer, and Hamdaniya, in addition to the Directorate of Sports and Youth and the Popular Mobilization Forces, aiming to prepare qualified trainers to implement entrepreneurship programs.
This course aimed to qualify participants to train students and graduates interested in establishing small and medium enterprises, and businesses providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge to support the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation in the local community, contributing to achieving economic development and creating new employment opportunities.
The University of Telafer was represented in this course by Assistant Lecturer Mushtaq Abdullah Mohammed Tahir, Associate Dean of the College of Education, Dr. Shamil Taha Abdullah, Head of the Sustainable Development Unit; and Assistant Lecturer Muthanna Khamis Rashid, Head of the Agricultural Division, who will transfer the acquired knowledge and expertise to university students and graduates, enhancing the university’s role in supporting entrepreneurship and startup projects in the region.
