“University of Telafer Launches the ‘Exchange Forum’ Initiative at the University Presidency in Support of Sustainability and Social Responsibility”
As part of its strategic vision for sustainable development and the promotion of environmental awareness and responsible consumption, the University of Telafer launched the activities of the “Exchange Forum” initiative at the university presidency. The event was attended by the University President, Professor Dr. Abdulaziz Ahmed Aziz, accompanied by the Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Huda Ismail Al-Jumaili, along with several college deans and university staff, marking the beginning of a distinctive student-driven initiative on campus.
At its core, the initiative aims to encourage the organized exchange and reuse of personal items that are still usable, linking individual awareness with social responsibility. The project revives the values of mutual giving and waste reduction while contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals—particularly those related to responsible consumption and production, and sustainable communities. The event also featured special activities, including an art exhibition of student drawings, and displays of antiques and handmade crafts reflecting cultural and heritage themes.
The forum received remarkable engagement from university staff and students, who expressed enthusiastic participation in this innovative experience that fosters values of solidarity and social responsibility. Participants emphasized the importance of such initiatives in building a more sustainable and cooperative campus community.
This initiative forms part of a broader series of actions adopted by the University of Telafer to empower students in building an aware and proactive academic environment—one that embraces sustainability as a practical approach to daily life, both on and beyond campus.
