“Women’s Affairs Division at University of Telafer Highlights Silent Violence Against Women”

In a qualitative initiative reflecting its interest in contemporary women’s issues, the Women’s Affairs Division at the University of Telafer organized a symposium titled “Silent Violence: Societal Manifestations that Hurt Women,” on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at the College of Nursing.

The symposium was presented by Assistant Lecturer Alaa Mohammed Ali, Head of the Women’s Affairs Division at the university, who reviewed with an advanced analytical methodology the integrated system of invisible violence that women experience in multiple societal contexts, which manifests in various forms such as moral marginalization, social exclusion, deprivation of economic independence, and deliberate emotional neglect.

The lecture deeply addressed the psychological and social effects of this pattern of violence that is practiced silently, which often infiltrates the societal fabric without monitoring or confrontation, necessitating intensified awareness and educational efforts to uncover and address it, and enhance the community protection system for women.

This initiative embodies the University of Telafer’s commitment to its pioneering role in building enlightened societal awareness that transcends stereotypes and addresses all forms of violence and discrimination, contributing to the formation of a balanced environment based on respect for women’s rights and enabling them to perform their active role in society.
