“Faculty Member from University of Telafer Publishes Research in Medical Nanotechnology in Peer-Reviewed Journal”<\/p>\n

Dr. Mohammed Mowaffaq Sahri, Head of the Rehabilitation and Employment Division at the University of Telafer presidency, in collaboration with local researchers, published a research paper in “Karbala International Journal of Science,” classified within the second quartile in the Scopus global database.<\/p>\n

This research, entitled ‘Synthesis of Gold Nanoparticles Using Hordeum vulgare Leaf Extract and their Antibacterial Activity,’ relied on using barley leaf extract in synthesizing gold nanoparticles and studying their antibacterial effectiveness. The resulting particles were characterized using multiple analytical techniques, including UV-Vis spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX).<\/p>\n

The research results showed that biologically synthesized gold nanoparticles demonstrated higher antibacterial activity than conventional particles, particularly against clinically isolated Acinetobacter baumannii and Salmonella typhi bacteria known for their multidrug resistance, opening new horizons in developing alternative treatments for resistant bacterial infections.<\/p>\n

This scientific publication reflects the University of Telafer’s contribution to the field of advanced applied research, especially in medical nanotechnology and biological applications, confirming the university’s ability to contribute to finding innovative scientific solutions to contemporary health challenges and contributing to the development of medical sciences at the international level.<\/p>\n
