Within the framework of its firm commitment to developing scientific research and enhancing its position in the international academic community, the University of Telafer witnessed the publication of a scientific research paper by two faculty members from the College of Nursing in the British journal “Systems Biology in Reproductive Medicine,” which is classified in the second quartile of the global Scopus database.<\/p>\n

Contributing to the preparation of this research were Dr. Iman Mohammed Said Jaloud, Head of the Basic Sciences Department at the College of Nursing, and Dr. Iman Taha Mohammed, a faculty member at the same college. The research, titled “Correlation of placenta previa and liver enzyme abnormalities with recurrent pregnancy loss in women,” studied the correlational relationship between placenta previa and liver enzyme disorders with recurrent pregnancy loss in women.<\/p>\n

The study focused on the phenomenon of recurrent pregnancy loss, which affects 1% to 5% of women of reproductive age, noting that approximately 75% of these cases remain of unknown causes despite comprehensive evaluation of risk factors and their underlying causes. The study sought to investigate the role of liver enzyme disorders and placenta previa in this complex medical phenomenon.<\/p>\n

Laboratory analysis results showed a statistically significant increase in liver enzyme levels (AST, ALT, and GGT) in women suffering from recurrent pregnancy loss compared to their counterparts in the control group, while a notable decrease in ALP enzyme levels was recorded in the affected group, indicating a correlational relationship between liver function disorders and recurrent miscarriage cases.<\/p>\n

This scientific publication comes within the context of continuous efforts made by the University of Telafer in the field of developing scientific research and contributing to enriching medical knowledge on the international level, reflecting the academic institution’s commitment to supporting research and scientific activities of its faculty members.<\/p>\n
